About Discord
Discord is where the club lives between meetups. Here's what it is, and why we use it.
What is Discord ?
Discord is a free chat app, organized into channels you can browse whenever it's convenient, a bit like a group text crossed with a bulletin board. It runs in a browser, as a desktop app, or on your phone, and you don't need to be tech-savvy to jump in.
You don't need it to show up to a meetup. It's just the easiest way to stay looped in between them, and to get to know people before you meet them in person.
How we use it
Meetup reminders
We post the date, time, and location before every meetup, plus any last-minute changes.
Planning extras
Hikes, game nights, and other hangouts usually start as a message in Discord.
Photos & recaps
Missed an event? Catch the pictures and stories after the fact.
Just talking
General chat for whatever's on your mind. No meetup required.
Ready to join?
It's free, there's no application, and you're welcome to read along for as long as you want before saying anything.
